for pasta (and it's vegan!): Planta

for breakfast pastries: Fresh Baguette (honorable mentions: Rose Avenue Bakery, Bread Furst)

for standard Korean fare: House of Milae

for reliable Japanese fare: Tako Grill

expensive special occasion sushi: Sushi Nakazawa

for bagels: Bethesda Bagel

fast food: Five Guys (I DON'T CARE THAT IT'S EXPENSIVE. DON'T EAT ANYWHERE ELSE THEN. IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS.)

for Indian cuisine: Kadhai

the best cupcakes I've had: The Cake Room

perfect deli for sandwiches, pizza, italian meats and fresh pastas: Vace

favorite Japanese markets: Hana (they have onigiri on certain days), Hinata (the sushi is great when you can get it)

best ramen: Menya Hosaki, hands down. (best abura soba i've had recently is Kajiken)

best Italian food: Cucina Morini
